Quote of the Week 03/02
Often I have to wait to write, and sometimes there’s an intense pressure about waiting. There’s the fear that one won’t be able to write the work. There’s the fear that the work won’t succeed. There’s the fear that you won’t get back to it. On the other hand, my books have to be so compelling that they stay with me even if I’m not actively working on them. And so compelling that I can pick up what I’ve been writing and reenter the work and go forward. I call it the “high tension, high resistance” method of writing. – Jayne Anne Phillips
